Almond Roca copy-cat recipe on cooking blog...

I know that I put this recipe up before, but I made it again for FHE treats last night, and it's so good! I just made half a batch, and we ate it all, really fast. Mmmm. I want more. :) (This picture is from the Christmas batch too...last night it was all gone by the time I even thought of a picture.)

Geico?

Today we got a flyer in the mail from the Geico car insurance company, and it had the stack of money with the eyes on top, and Emmaline picked it up and said, "This is the money you could be saving with Geico." I thought it was so so funny. I wanted her to take it to Royce, and tell him the same thing, but I was laughing so much it embarrased her, and she didn't want to do it, so I had to bribe her with chocolate chips. I still don't think she did, but somehow she ended up with chocolate chips anyway. How did that happen?

Mother's Day!

We decided to make Nana a mother's day cake this year, and here it is. Her favourite color is purple, so I made some purple roses for the top of it, but by the time we got to their house (2 1/2 hrs later) the flowers had turned blue! It was really weird. So we finished the cake at their house, which was actually really fun, because Ronda and Gina helped me, and they made some really pretty flowers! (The unfinished picture is just as we were leaving our apartment.)
It was really fun to visit for the weekend, and we even got to take Nana to see the new Star Trek movie. (She loves Star Trek.)
