Flu!

So I normally wouldn't consider this to be post worthy, but I'm bored and don't want to get off the couch, and am tired of looking at the same pictures on my blog, and happened to have a couple of cute ones.
Emmaline started a fever on Saturday, which was pretty high(103.7), or at least higher than I'm comfortable with, so we gave her some meds for the fever and she rested, but by Sunday morning it was back at 103.7 again, so we decided to take her into a walk-in clinic and lo and behold she has influenza. (I was suspicious of pneumonia again, so I was at least glad it wasn't that.) The sad thing is, though, that she got immunized with the flu-mist at her 7yr check-up, but it was about a week and a half before this, and apparently it takes at least two weeks for it to become effective. Next year we will be getting flu shots sooner! They got her set up with some Tamiflu, and she's been resting and recuperating since then.  (Sadly, the first picture was not even when Emmaline was sick. We just hang out in our pajamas a lot.)
I made them each little nests to rest in, and set Emmaline's up on the couch, and Marta's up on the chair so that we could try and keep them apart and keep Marta from getting sick. (She did get a really low-grade fever for a night and a day, but her test came back negative, so so far so good.)
By today, though, I caught both girls snuggled up on the couch together. Oh well, I suppose we're in such close contact here anyway if she's going to be exposed she probably has already.
I put both of these pictures in, since Marta looks drunk in one, and Emmaline looks drunk in the other.

Pics from my phone

So here are a few pictures that I finally got off my phone.

Aunty Lea got us some bacon bandaids.
New cow shoes from my Aunt.

This was in the motel on the last day of our trip to Oregon. We were flying out early the next morning, and we were exhausted and starving and the only food close to us was at this bar next door, so Grandpa went and got us some take out meals while we waited in the motel and the girls devoured them and then crashed.

I like that Marta is taking advantage of the fact that Emmaline is not paying close attention to her food.

First pigtails!

Poor little sick Marta.
Yay! Now we just need a fancy frame. And a wall to put it on. :)
First tooth gone!

After the Primary program this last Sunday.

I was just about to get onto Emmaline for not doing her school work, but before I said anything I happened to look down and see this. Sigh...I guess a little break is okay. (She isn't asleep, they were just watching a movie.)

This was apparently the only safe place to play angry birds without Marta knocking everything down.
So cute!

We haven't had family pictures taken since Emmaline was younger than Marta is now, and she's started naming everyone in that picture, and it's only a matter of time before she starts to realize she's not in there. :) (I think she think that she is Emmaline.) Anyway, so we had our friend/photographer Katie take some pictures for us, and we're excited at how they turned out. She did a great job, and now we'll see how long it takes me to replace the picture on the wall. :)

Trunk-or-Treat 2012

When Emmaline decided she was going to be Snow White for Halloween I told her we should dye her hair black, and she was appalled at the idea. Then today as we were grocery shopping she decided she might want to try it, so we got the spray-can kind, and she loved it. She wanted to spray her hair again when we go to Oregon for Christmas, but I don't think that's the look I want her to have on the airplane.

Royce was trying to entertain Marta before they could start going around getting candy, but Marta was thinking, why do I need to walk around? We have a big bowl of candy right here. The only safe place for it was on his head.

Baby girl number three! (Most likely a girl.)

We got this sonogram done today, and we're one day shy of 12 weeks. She said it looks like a girl as of now, but it's not a for sure thing yet, but probably another little girl! We're excited, but Emmaline was a little dissapointed that it wasn't a boy. (Wow, is dissapointed not a word? I don't care enough to look it up. I blame pregnancy brain on my spelling.) The baby looks really healthy, but I have a little bit of placenta previa, but for now I just need to call if I have any bleeding and they'll have me come in. Horray for another little cutie! (Like how I was too lazy to even scan the picture in? Sorry third child.:)

Emmaline's Birthday

Today we celebrated Emmaline's birthday. Her actual birthday is on Sunday, but Sunday birthdays are no fun, so we decided that today would be the day. We got up and had toaster strudel for breakfast, she watched Spongebob until lunch (she didn't want to do any school work or do chores on her birthday, so I figured that would be okay) and then we went to Taco Cabana for lunch(and I got a diet DrPepper, which is why I'm writing this blog at 1am, waiting for my Benadryl to kick in), more Spongebob until dinner (with a couple of errands in between) then Costco hot dogs for dinner. (At least I cooked those at home...that kind of counts as cooking, right?) Then we got ready and went down to the playground for cake and her party, had lots of fun with lots and lots of friends, then headed back up to the house. She opened her presents, then Daddy snuck out for a bit and came home with a rented copy of The Avengers, and we watched the Avengers and ate ice cream for the rest of the night. It was  a pretty special day for our almost seven year old!
The actual cake part of this cake was kind of a nightmare, and I had such a hard time shaping it, which is why it's all wobbly and dented, but I'm happy with how the decorations turned out.
I grabbed a quick picture before we headed out the door to the party.

I wish I had taken more pictures at her party. There were so many great friends there, and I wish I'd been better about that.

She's started collecting the Princess chapter books, so here's another one for her collection.
Flyn Rider from Aunty Lea. (I think she's also trying to show off her missing tooth.)
Marta snuggling her new pillow pet. Marta loved them!

The pillow pets. I had asked Emmaline a long time ago what she wanted for her birthday and she wanted a pillow pet, but we had just gotten one for her last Christmas, and she tends to get allergies so I wasn't going to get her one because I figured one was enough and we'd figure something else to get her. Then Marta becomes really interested in her ladybug pillow pet and sweet little Emmaline lets Marta sleep with it, so for the last few weeks she's just given it to Marta to sleep with and uses her normal pillow, even though she loved to sleep with her pillow pet and had completely given up on her normal pillow,  so I figured she needed another pillow pet, and decided that since she was so nice about it that we'd get her a little mini pillow pet to go with it.
This last present is from Grandma and Grandpa, and is something she's wanted to try for a long time, so I looked into renting her one, but Royce was looking on Amazon and found one that was the same price as just two month renting, so Grandma and Grandpa got her a little violin. Now we just have to figure out where to put the syrup.
