Pictures

We went to a little friend's birthday party the other day, and his mom is a photographer and took some pictures of the kids and sent them to us, and they are so cute. She's going to take our family pictures in a couple of weeks, and I'm really excited!

Haha...Marta's face is hilarious. She is not going down that slide with Amelia there.

Emmaline's Haircut, School Stuff, Random

Emmaline loves her long hair, and whenever I asked her if she wanted to get her hair cut, the answer is always no, but then the other day they had an ad for free back to school haircuts at JcPenney, and out of the blue she decided she wanted a haircut, and she wanted to donate it to Locks of Love, so we set up her appointment and went to get her haircut. We get there, and she's a little more nervous. I tell the stylist we need 10 inches, and she said, okay, around her shoulders, right? I asked Emmaline, and she said sure. Then she put it in the pony tail and cut it, and it was waayyy shorter than her shoulders, but I wasn't going to say anything to Emmaline, but she could tell how short it was and little tears
started rolling down her face. The lady did a really good job, but Emmaline was pretty upset. We went and bought her a cookie and two new headbands, but by the time we got to the car she just burst into tears, and was a little hysterical, saying that the back of her hair felt like a boy's haircut. (I even brought my camera to get a picture of her at the salon, but she was way too sad.)

We get home, and she's still pretty upset, but getting more used to it. This  was after she had composed herself for a while. She tries brushing it out, and liked that quite a bit, and Daddy was at Walmart and surprised her with hand mirror and some more headbands, and by the time he got home she decided that she was kind of okay with it. By the night time, she absolutely loved it, and was walking around with her mirror and the hairbrush all night, brushing her hair, and playing with it. Whew.

These next two are just really cute. Emmaline loves to put Marta's shoes on, and Marta's pretty patient.

We've started home-school this year again, and the second day of school was hurricane Isaac, so we decided to take advantage of it and spent the entire day learning about hurricanes, and created our own hurricane in a cup (not quite as cool as it sounded. :)) So this is the girls drinking their orange juice, intensely watching the weather channel.
Marta dragged this chair to the door, sat down, and kept pointing at the door saying, "Daddy, Daddy." She wanted to wait until Daddy came home.
 Ice cream faces.
Another science experiment we've done is the diet coke and mentos "explosion" that we decided to do with a couple of friends.
Our experiment was to see if the mint flavored Mentos made a better explosion than the fruit flavored ones. (They're supposed to, but as you can tell from the videos, they were pretty much exactly the same. Oh well, I guess that's what happens sometimes. :))

This last one they wanted to try and put two mentos in, but they put them in one that had already been "esploded."
