Just another day in paradise

Marta is really good at rolling from her back to front, but lately has been getting stuck on her tummy, but has been using the time wisely. (She used to be better rolling from front to back, but apparently it depends on the week.:)

Emmaline and I have been learning how to make cheese, ice cream, and butter, etc on-line, so we tried to make our own butter, but I'm starting to think that you have to have cream, not just whole milk. But she's shaking the crud out of that jar anyway. :)

What do you do when you're poor college students and you don't have a picture of your whole family together? That's right, you sit in front of the web-cam and take pictures that way. :)

Ode to the Cupcake Wrapper

I love these cupcake wrappers. They're foil on the inside so when you bake them the colors stay true and they hold their shape. The colors are really cute and they're only $2.24 for like 36 of them at Wal-Mart. Anyway, they're wonderful. That is all. (Don't mind whatever that gross mystery spot is next to the cupcake.)

Emmaline's Talk

So Emmaline gave a talk a few weeks ago in Church, and it was supposed to be about the Restoration, and I thought it would be fun to save, so here's her talk. She wrote all of it by herself (she was very specific about the wording) except I made her put in the scripture, and I wouldn't let her say that the other Churches were bad. (We had to explain that that the other Churches have good parts to them, but we believe that they don't have the full Gospel of Jesus Christ.)

"Joseph Smith was working hard in a field. All of the people in the Churches wanted Joseph Smith to go to their Churches. Everyone was fighting and arguing. Joseph Smith was wondering if he could go to any of the Churches or not. So Joseph Smith looked in the scriptures to see if any of the Churches were right or wrong. The scripture said, 'If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.' That means if you have a question you can ask Heavenly Father and He'll give you the answer. Joseph Smith went into the forest to pray so nobody could see him pray. He saw something dark, then he saw something light. The light was Heavenly Father and Jesus. They told Joseph Smith not to go to any of the Churches. Joseph Smith was supposed to start a new Church. Then he knew that Heavenly Father and Jesus were watching him and that they would always be there for him. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

Really Mommy? Tummy time again?

Friends and 4mo Stats!

This is Emmaline's little friend *cough-future husband-cough* Jarom. Normally she has a couple of other friends over at the same time, but last Friday everyone was out of town, so it was just Jarom and Emmaline so I had to steal a pic. He and his wonderful family are moving tomorrow, and we're so sad, but happy that they get to move forward.

In this pic are more of the cute little friends that Emmaline has, who are moving at the end of the summer! We're so sad to be missing all of these sweet little boys, but are glad that we've gotten to have so much fun with everyone.
I have a deal with Emmaline that for every serious picture that I get, she gets to have a silly one.

And here's our cute little Marta girl. I keep getting in trouble because I don't have more pictures of Marta, but the batteries in my camera are dying, and I have just enough time to get one picture before the battery dies, so this is it for now. :) She was sitting up so cute and smiling at me, and I'm just awful at getting good pictures. But she had her 4mo check-up today, and she's doing great. She was 90% for weight, 90% for head circumference, off the chart for height, but is the same height as an average(50%) 8mo old. Yikes! She's doing great though, and her heart murmur might be gone, she rolled over for the first time this weekend, and has started solid food and loves it!
