I'm going through all of our pictures on the computer and printing them off so that I can put them in an album, and these are a few that I thought were pretty cute. This one is from Christmas, when we were at New Braunfels with my parents.
This is when we went to the trail of lights in Austin a week before Christmas.
Haha...this is Uncle Will. Scariest redneck picture ever. Marissa won't even look at it. Smart girl. :) Haha...and he couldn't grow his own, so he had me fill in part of his mustache (or whatever you call that thing) with mascara. Hahahahaha.

Cherry Pie
Here's a cherry pie that I made for Royce; the Elders quorum is having a pie night for an activity. (What's with all the weird activities they have? Has anyone else noticed that? In our last ward it was like a steak night thing.)
I used the same stencil from Thanksgiving, but my mom got me some leaf cookie cutters that make an imprint onto the leaf, so I tried that around the border.

Fondant Practice
I've been thinking a little bit about a design for a cake that I would like to do sometime, but since there's no occasion coming up soon, and I don't want to be stuck with a whole cake, I made a cupcake version. Ideally the top of the cake would be covered in daisies, and there wouldn't be the ruffle at the bottom. (That happened by accident :) )

Daddy and Baby Lyla
Emmaline loves Lyla, and she didn't mind if anyone else held the baby, except for Daddy. Then she freaked out and Royce had to hold her too. It was pretty cute. She doesn't like to share Royce very much. (I wonder where she got that from...we have a little duel every night to see who gets to play with Daddy :) ) (And thanks for the picture, Carol!)

.
I couldn't sleep and I came across this quote tonight, and for some reason it really stuck out to me, so I thought I would share it.
"Our intellects...must always measure learning by the gospel criteria; Is is true? Is it uplifting?" -President Harold B. Lee
It just seems like that is a really good guide to most of the things we do on a daily basis...is the thing that we're doing uplifting? I really like how Sister Parkin said, "Wouldn’t it be easy if we were choosing between visiting teaching or robbing a bank?" I don't know...it just kind of stood out to me tonight.
(I also love the song, "There is Love" by Peter, Paul, and Mary. You should listen to it if you haven't :) )

More Twilight
Okay, good. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's been sucked in. Monday I got the second one finished it yesterday, and then yesterday I got the third one, and I just finished it, but I'm going to try and cool it down a little bit and wait and check out the fourth one from the library. But it's good to know I'm not alone :)

I've been bitten...(is that grammatically correct? It sounds weird.)
Haha...I'm embarrassed to say that I've been hooked on the book Twilight. I was deciding between it and Rachel and Leah by Orson Scott Card, because I had read Rebekah and Sarah in the past few weeks, but I got way to into it, and cried most of the night, so Royce was a little nervous about me starting another one, but I had talked to my sister and she really liked Twilight, (not to mention Royce's sisters too :) ) and on Friday night we found the only copy at Half-Priced Books, and I couldn't find the other, so I considered it a sign. So now I'm done, and am trying to find a store that has the second one so I can go get it tomorrow. I used to read a lot, and then I started hanging out with Jenny, and she broke me from my lonely solitude, and so I've been a little nervous to start reading again, because it seems to consume me for a while :) So hopefully I'll still feed Royce and Emmaline, and do dishes every now and again, and even go to the bathroom on a regular basis :)
One other really cute thing happened today. We keep trying to get Emmaline to name her dolls and her toys, but she won't, then today she was holding her bear, and she said it's a baby bear, and she needs to take care of it, and we asked her what her baby bear's name was, and she said, "It's baby Lyla." It was so cute :)

Christmas Pics
Playing Battle of the Sexes with my parents and Lea and Mike. Emmaline had a little too much fun.
Here's another pic of the vacation rental. It was really nice :)
Here's the kitchen in the time share. My dad loved the wood, and the ceiling is a lot like the tongue and groove that my dad does.
Emmaline feeding Lexie her bone.
Daddy programming Lexie, Emmaline's new talking dog.
At the timeshare watching Kung-Fu-Panda with Daddy and her new doll. It's so lifelike. Curse you plastic moldsmen.
Playing with Cody at Nana and Papa's house. Cody wasn't very thrilled about having his picture taken.
Emmaline loves baby Lyla.
We train 'em young.
Aunty Gina takes good care of us.
I didn't take very many pictures over Christmas :) I was having too much fun, or sleeping, so I'll put the few that I have up, and then wait to get some pictures from people who were more responsible. We spent the first weekend of the vacation with Royce's family, and then my parents drove out to San Marcos and Lea and Mike flew down, and we spent a week in their time-share, and then we spent the next week back with Royce's family.
Also while we were at Royce's parent's we had our four year anniversary so we left the little one there, and we got to spend the night in College Station. It was so nice! We went to dinner and a movie, and a little shopping, and the next morning Royce snuck out early and brought me back flowers and dougnuts. (He always does that for my birthday or our anniversary.) I was really spoiled. It was wonderful. It was our first date since we came down to Texas. Unless you count the week before when we were with my parents and they took Emmaline with them to the grocery store. The poor boy even had to watch twilight, because there was nothing else good at the theater. But we actually both liked it, and I have to admit that if it had come out when I was in high school, or really before I met Royce, I probably would have been pretty obsessed with it. But now I have Royce, so I don't really need movies like that any more.

Yikes!
So I've always been pretty camera shy, and self conscious about pictures, but lately I've started deciding that I look how I look, and I'd rather that my kid(s?) have pictures with their mom to help them remember the moment, instead of having none because of my own vanity. Plus when I'm old and gray I'll be able to remember what it was like to still have teeth.
I've also been noticing that my hair line has been receeding lately, but I was sure that I was just being paranoid, but at my doctor's appointment today he asked if I was starting to get bald like he was, and I said yes, and he said that unfortunately there wasn't a whole lot that could be done about that. Yikes! I mean, I don't think it means that I'll go completely bald, or anything like that, but it's not my imagination that it's thinning out :) So I'll let people take more pictures of me while I still have a full head of hair. :) On a plus note I might be able to take smaller doses on some of my meds depending on what my lab work says. So that's good!
(Okay, I still am pretty vain...this pictured turned out pretty well compared to the pictures that have been taken lately...I don't have the courage to put up any of the pictures of me from Christmas yet. Baby steps to the bus. :) )
